Description

This is a delicious but strong margarita!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Juice of 1 lime (2 if they are small)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Juice of 1/2 mandarin, if available
  • 2.5 oz silver or reposado tequila
  • A squeeze of agave syrup
  • Salt and slice of lime for the rim
  • 1 oz Cointreau (see note below for less sweet)

Instructions

  1. Muddle or squeeze juice of lime, lemon, and mandarin into cocktail shaker
  2. Pour tequila, agave, and Cointreau into the shaker
  3. Add ice
  4. Shake until the shaker is freezing cold
  5. Salt the rim of the glass if desired – slide a lime wedge around the outside of the glass, then dip the rim of the glass in a plate of course salt
  6. Pour into a margarita glass of choice
  7. Garnish with a slice of the lime! CHEERS!

Notes

This recipe makes one 6 oz drink plus ice.

If you prefer your margarita on the less sweet side, skip the Cointreau and tailor the amount of the agave syrup.  For my “less sweet” friends, I do the same amount of agave but skip the Cointreau.
