Citrusy Grilled Goodness
Do you need a go to grilling idea for a summer dinner party or easy weeknight meal? This grilled citrus and rosemary marinated pork tenderloin could be the answer. The prep is easy, with only a bit of forethought to purchase or thaw your meat and make a simple marinade. And the final product is moist and delicious, fan favorite of adults and kids.
Citrus Rosemary Marinade Ingredients
All you need for this marinade is orange juice, soy sauce, garlic, rosemary and olive oil. Combine these ingredients in a mixing bowl and then pour over the raw pork loin in a glass container that can be sealed or a food safe plastic bag.
For best flavor, I always prefer to marinate for 24 hours, but I don’t always have the time so I’ll prepare the marinade as soon as I can.
Grilling the Pork Loin
If it has been refrigerated, I pull it out of the fridge 30 minutes – 1 hour before grilling to bring the meat to a room temperature.
When grilling pork tenderloin, it’s important to put it on the grill with the fat side up to start cooking it. The fat can catch on fire and cook the meat too fast on the outside. Pork can be a little bit pink inside but you don’t want it to be fleshy. Pork tenderloin has a little more flavor and doesn’t dry out as much as pork chops so it’s a tasty meat to grill instead of a pork chop.
Grill pork fat side up for approximately 6 – 7 minutes, then turn it over and grill another 6 – 7 minutes. But monitor the pork and if it still feels very soft from the outside, consider turning it again. Grill until pork is 145 internal temperature. Pork tenderloin can be slightly pink inside as long as the temperature is met, and the meat is not fleshy inside. Or grill to desired doneness.
