The Whiskey Tango Players
To start, select a solid, simple whiskey versus a collector’s item or expensive one you might sip on in its solo form. You will also need 1/2 oz simple syrup, store bought or homemade. Additional ingredients include the juice of 1/2 lemon and the juice of 1/2 lime.
Regarding ice, you can use one large ice block or sphere or several smaller cubes of your choice/ convenience.
Lastly, a great option is to provide great visual effect by garnishing with fresh blackberries and/ or lemon wedge, peel or shaving.
How to Make this Cocktail
This drink is quickly put together.
First, measure 2 oz whiskey and pour int a lowball or cocktail glass. Then, add the simple syrup. Next, squeeze in the lemon and lime juice. Now, you can place the large ice block or sphere into the glass and stir gently until mixed. Lastly, garnish with fruit of your choice.

1/2 lime, juice of
Large whiskey ice cube if available, or several regular to your choice
Optional fruit garnish – blackberries or lemon shaving
Instructions
- Measure 2 oz whiskey in a lowball or cocktail glass
- Add simple syrup
- Squeeze in the 1/2 lemon and 1/2 lime (no seeds please!)
- Place large ice cube in and stir until cold and mixed
