We love this smooth yet slightly tangy pomegranate martini for the holidays!  The pomegranate brings an edgy flavor that with lemon and elderflower, is a perfect blend of bitter-sweet. And it’s gorgeous visually, perfect for seasonal happy hours or special occasions.

The Pomegranate Martini Ingredients

Traditionally, this style of martini is made with Cointreau or another orange citrus liqueur.  If you have spent time on our site, you know we are elderflower groupies.  Our Pomegranate Martini is made with St. Germaine.

All you will need is ice, fresh lemons, vodka, pomegranate juice, St. Germain (elderflower liqueur), and optional but recommended garnishes of pomegranate seeds and rosemary sprigs.

Martini ingredients: Titos Vodka, St. Germain liqueur, Pomegranate juice, 1 lemon, pomegranate seeds, and sprigs of rosemary

Making this Martini

First chill your favorite martini glass by filling it with ice and then add water.  Let it chill while you mix the martini.  Fill a shaker with ice.  Add 2 ounces of vodka, 1 1/2 ounces of pomegranate juice, 1/2 ounce St. Germain, and the juice of 1/2 lemon.  Shake until shaker is ice cold on the outside.

Next, pour out the ice water from your chilling martini glass.  Pour the pomegranate martini into the chilled glass, straining out the ice. Add 5-10 pomegranate seeds and a sprig of rosemary for garnish. Serve and enjoy!

When to Make the Pomegranate Martini

  • Christmastime entertaining is the perfect time for this martini!  Try pairing it with a fun seasonal appetizer like this Melted Brie and Toasted Almond with Cranberries for a holiday happy hour.
  • If you do not have St. Germain, you can substitute it with Cointreau.
