Description
This Black Bean Caviar Dip is a great appetizer for any party. It is always a hit, as it is unique and very flavorful.
Ingredients
Scale
- One (15 oz) can of black beans
- one small can (4.25 oz) of chopped black olives
- 1/2 C chopped red or green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
- 1/4 C olive oil
- 1/4 C red wine vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Tortilla chips or Fritos work best for serving and scooping
Instructions
- Making this ahead of time is recommended so that you can chill it at least 4 hours ahead of serving.
- Drain and rinse the black beans, and put them into a mixing bowl.
- Add chopped olives.
- Finely chop 1/2 cup of red onions or green onions, and add to the bowl.
- Next, add 2 cloves of pressed or finely chopped garlic. Mix these ingredients in the bowl.
- Now add olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, cumin, and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine flavors.
- Rinse and pat dry the cilantro leaves. Chop 1/4 cup cilantro and then add to the bowl, stirring one last time to combine.
- Place the dip in a sealable glass container and store in the fridge for 4-24 hours before serving.
- Scoop the desired amount into a serving bowl, alongside tortilla chips or Fritos and serve.
Notes
- This black bean caviar dip is great as a stand-alone appetizer. I also love using it on top of Carnitas Tacos, Beef Taco Bowls, or Chicken Fajita Bowls.
- I like to make this a day ahead of serving for guests, as the beans marinate, the flavors become even better.
- If you are hosting a happy hour when serving this dip, consider making these Best Margaritas or Classic Mojitos.
