While we all love a fresh glass of bubbly, this is a fun spin. By adding just a touch of Elderflower liqueur and freshly grated lime zest, this Prosecco takes on a whole new life. This celebratory beverage was introduced to me by my sister-in-law one Christmas time in France. We enjoyed large wine glasses full of this delicious concoction on Christmas Eve.
Elderflower & Lime Prosecco Ingredients
All you will need for this refreshing and festive drink is a bottle of your favorite Prosecco (or brut Champagne), elderflower liqueur (like St. Germain), and freshly grated lime zest. Since the elderflower liqueur is sweet, I would choose a brut champagne if you divert from Prosecco.
How to Make this Prosecco Cocktail
The process to make this drink is simple and takes no time at all! First, pour the St. Germain in the bottom of a champagne flute. Then, slowly add the Prosecco until glass is appropriately full (about 6 ounces). Finally, garnish with the zest of lime over the top. Enjoy!
Serving Suggestions
- Make this delicious drink for an aperitif served before dinner on a holiday or special occasion or during a special brunch with friends. Consider adding a fun appetizer to your pre dinner menu, like this delicious recipe for Captain Ric’s Marinated Party Shrimp!
- It could be also a great bubbly to serve with brunch, in which case, consider making some French Crêpes to go along with!
- You can substitute the Prosecco with a brut Champagne or sparkling wine. I suggest nothing too sweet, as the Elderflower does add a sweetness.
