Description
We are going full speed into summer with watermelon! This drink is light and refreshing yet also strong, so beware!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ounces watermelon-infused tequila
- 1/4 of a lime
- 1/2 ounce Cointreau
- One squeeze of light agave nectar
- Optional salt for the glass rim
- optional garnishes (watermelon, lime wedge, orange wedge, or dehydrated orange wheel).
Instructions
- First, if you or your guests like a salted rim, grab your margarita salt to prepare! If you don’t have a small container of margarita salt, use a salad plate and pour salt on the plate as needed for the number of guests you have. Slide a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then turn upside down onto the salted plate or margarita salt.
- Next, fill a shaker with ice and add watermelon-infused tequila, lime, Cointreau (or orange liqueur of choice), and a small squeeze of agave.
- Close the shaker and shake vigorously until the shaker feels ice-cold.
- Finally, pour it into a glass over ice and garnish with either watermelon, lime wedge, orange wedge, or dehydrated fruit.
Notes
- I’ve been enjoying having these dehydrated blood oranges on hand for various cocktails. They add a bit of fun to any cocktail.
- If drinking this poolside or out in the sun, consider adding a topper of plain or preferred flavored sparkling water.
- Enjoying as a pre-dinner cocktail? Strain the ice and serve up, martini-style in a coupe or martini glass.
- Do you enjoy a spicy cocktail? Drop a couple of jalapeño slices in the bottom of the shaker, squeeze the lime over it and muddle these together, before adding other ingredients.
