Description

If you need a quick and easy side for a BBQ sandwich or summer meal, this 5-Minute Coleslaw could be your savior. All you will need are pre-shredded cabbage and a few kitchen staples!  This coleslaw has a sweet, tangy dressing that you can whip up in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 ounces of coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2T apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp celery seeds (and a shake or two more on top!)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 T honey

Instructions

  1. First, pour the pre-shredded 14 ounces of coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Then, in a separate small mixing bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of mayonnaise, 2T apple cider vinegar, 2 tsp Dijon mustard, 1 tsp celery seeds, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 pepper, and 2 T of honey.
  3. Now, pour the dressing over the cabbage and combine thoroughly.
  4. Serve immediately or store covered in the mixing bowl or serving bowl of your choice until ready to eat!

Notes

  • You can easily shred your own cabbage for this recipe if you prefer that to the bagged pre-shredded option.  It may take more than 5 minutes to make it if you decide to shred your own, though!
  • Although this 5-minute coleslaw is good right after preparing, it is good for 3-5 days if stored sealed and in the refrigerator.
  • Serve this with any of your favorite BBQ entrées or summer grilled proteins. You may enjoy this 5-Minute Coleslaw with these Easy Oven-Baked Ribs!
