Description

This deliciously rich dessert only takes about 5 minutes to prepare, however, it will need to set in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 C semi-sweet chocolate bits
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 T vanilla (or Grand Marnier or Kahlúa if you prefer)
  • 2 C heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Put the chocolate chips, eggs, and vanilla (or Grand Marnier or Kahlúa) into the blender.
  2. In a small sauce pan, heat the whipping cream slowly until bubbles appear at the edge, and ONLY at the edge.  Medium heat should be sufficient, but if your stove tends to cook hot, adjust accordingly!  You do not want the cream to scald or to cook too quickly.
  3. Next, start to mix the ingredients that are in the blender.  While the blender is mixing, add warmed cream gradually. Blend until all of the ingredients are combined well.
  4. Pour into individual serving dishes, glasses, or ramikens. (How many and Check out these dishes, perfect for this mousse.)
  5. Put the mousse into the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving, allowing it to set.
  6. Serve cold as is or garnish with a bit of whipped cream and chocolate shavings or a long wafer cookie, such as a pirouette.
